Why Indian students should study in Scotland?

Famous for its hospitality and warmth, Scotland is an important part of the UK and a preferred country for many international students planning to study abroad. But what makes Scotland such a popular destination? Stuart Easter, International officer for the University of Edinburgh, recently spoke to The Hindu (http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-features/tp-educationplus/the-scotland-attraction/article7906149.ece) in an exclusive interview to demonstrate why Indian students should study in Scotland and here are just a snippet of the reasons why.

Indian students
There are 1490 Indian students currently studying in Scotland and over the last two years there has been a 14% increase alone of students choosing to study in Edinburgh.
Most Indian students in Scotland choose to study business, engineering, medicine and computer science, while Scottish universities are also well-renowned for their research, producing nearly 1% of global research output.
Scholarships
The Scottish government runs the Saltire Scholarship scheme for mainly Indian, Canadian, US and Chinese students. This offers generous financial support of up to £2,000 for 200 students each year. All universities also run their own scholarship schemes as well.
Transition from India to Scotland
When arriving at a Scottish university, Indian students will take part in orientation events which will familiarise themselves with the university and also their fellow new students. The transition is further eased by ensuring oversees students are guaranteed a place in on campus accommodation.
End result
Many graduates return to India finding themselves highly employable with the skills they have learned. The graduate employment ratio of 91% is excellent for students looking for opportunities in Scotland itself.
