Top Employers in the UK target University of Manchester

Ever wondered if the top employers in your country prefer the name of the university you graduated from? The answer is yes. But surprisingly, in the survey it was found that employers aren’t affected by the rankings of the university in the league tables.

Surprisingly, the University of Manchester was found to be the top university targeted by the top employers. It isn’t Cambridge, or Oxford, which tops the league table. Top 10 universities most targeted by the employers are: University of Manchester, University of Warwick, University of Nottingham, University of Bristol, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University College London, Durham University, University of Bath, and University of Leeds.

Ranked eighth in the UK, and 56th in the world; University of Manchester is also ranked 8th in the UK for being the most reputable university. The university currently has 38,590 students, and 10,060 international students, which makes it a big pool for recruiters to grab students from.
The survey looked at graduate vacancies, starting salaries and undergraduate work experience programmes at the country’s 100 leading employers. Some of the leading employers are the Apple, Amazon, BBC, Google, the Bank of England, Deloitte, Dyson, Marks and Spencer, Teach First, and more.
Recruiters also confirmed that 31% of the entry level jobs in the year 2016 are expected to be filled by graduates who did internship, industrial training, or vacation work. The graduate jobs are by 8.1% from last year, and that’s not the only positive. The graduates were offered possible highest salaries: Investment banks(median £45,000), Law firms( median £40,000), Banking & Finance(median £36,500), Oil & Energy companies(median £32,500).
But the result was done on the basis of records from top 100 employers; it will vary if top 1000 employers are considered, and so on. Eventually, for grabbing a graduate position, it will come down to your work experience, extra-curricular activities, knowledge about the work profile, grades, and not merely on the university you attended.

How can students manage study in university and work part time in countries like USA, UK, Canada, or Australia?

How can students can manage study in university and work part time in countries like USA or UK or Canada or Australia ?

Why is it not possible to earn money while study in college in India?

our education is so hard that we can't spend time?

Is education is easy in foreign countries so students can study and work?

there are less part time jobs in India?

Answer given by an International student?

The reason why students are able to work part time along with their studies is because of the difference in education system and laws in these countries. In Indian colleges, lectures take place 9-4 or 9-5, depends on the college, giving students less time to work. Also the minimum wage in India is varied from city to city, but in Delhi it is 361 INR per day for 8 hours of work. So, for 4 hours of work it will be 180 INR. Now, let's say you work for 5 days for 4 hours, completing 20 hours of part time work. You'll earn 900 INR per week and 3600 INR per month. Which is quite low.

In UK, the minimum wage for age 18-21 is 5.30 pounds, 21 above is 6.70 pounds. Which comes out to be roughly 424 pounds and 536 pounds respectively which is close 42,000 INR and 52,000 INR respectively. This sum allows student to pay rent as well help him afford food and other bursaries as well. Plus in break time they can work full time which allows them to save some for the future as well.

The education system in these countries are much tougher compared to India, here you only study twice a year for the main semester's exams but in international countries, most of the coursework is awarded on the basis of projects, assignments, etc.

Twenty tips for IELTS success:

IELTS EXAM | Learn English, IELTS, EFL,ESL Public Speaking, Grammar ...
  1. In Listening, use the example at the beginning of the first section to familiarize yourself with the sound, the situation, and the speakers.
  2. Keep listening until the recording stops, looking only at the questions that relate to the part being played.
  3. There are often pauses in the recording between different sections. Use these to prepare for the next set of questions.
  4. Answer Listening questions in the order they appear on the Question Paper. Remember that they normally follow the order of the information in the recording.
  5. At the end of the recording you have some time to transfer your answers to the Answer Sheet. Check your grammar and spelling as you do so
  6. In Academic Reading, begin by going quickly through each passage to identify features such as the topic, the style, the likely source, the writer’s purpose and the intended reader.
  7. As you read, don’t try to understand the precise meaning of every word or phrase. You don’t have time, and those parts of the text might not be tested anyway.
  8. Reading tasks sometimes have an example answer. If this is the case, study it and decide why it is correct.
  9. Some tasks require you to use words from the text in the answer; in others you should use your own words. Check the instructions carefully.
  10. The instructions may also include a word limit, e.g. Use no more than three words. Keep to this by avoiding unnecessary words in your answer.
  11. In Academic Writing, you must always keep to the topic set. Never try to prepare sections of text before the exam.
  12. Keep to the suggested timing: there are more marks possible for Task 2 than Task 1.
  13. Organize and link your ideas and sentences appropriately, using a wide range of language and showing your ability (in Task 2) to discuss ideas and express opinions.
  14. If you write less than 150 words in Task 1 or less than 250 in Task 2 you will lose marks, but there is no maximum number of words for either.
  15. When you plan your essay, allow plenty of time at the end to check your work.
  16. In Speaking, don’t try to give a prepared speech, or talk about a different topic from the one you are asked to discuss.
  17. Always speak directly to the Examiner, not to the recording equipment.
  18. Whenever you reply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to the Examiner’s questions, add more details to your answer. In each case, aim to explain at least one point.
  19. Remember that you are not being tested on your general knowledge but on your ability to communicate effectively.
  20. Organize and link your ideas and sentences appropriately, talking clearly at normal speed and using a wide range of structures and vocabulary

Importance of Internship programmes and the courses offered by the UK universities

Most of the colleges have internships in their curriculum in order to make the students know about the working atmosphere practically. Colleges have understood the importance but many students take this internship period lightly and do things lethargically. Internships will add more value to your resume while you search for a job after graduation. It is also considered as the student’s first real time experience in a company.
My question:-
“To Students,
Do you consider internships important?
To Educators,
Are you making your students aware of the importance of Internship programmes?”
Internship is the first experience for the students in which they learn their role, skills needed and know whether they are comfortable to perform the job in an organization. Colleges must be concerned about the internship programmes by giving guidance to carry out their internships. They also have to make the students aware of their desired job’s profile by inviting employers and asking them to tell about expectations of the corporate world.
As practical learning is effective than academic education understand its importance and work accordingly. Do perfect research on the organization before entering inside and make your internship effective by learning new things. Companies look for skilled persons who can start working immediately so expose your talents during internships which may be chance for you to be recruited by them for full time work.
Some of the Internship program offered by the UK universities
MSc Computing - 24 months duration with 6-10 months optional Internship
MSc Database Systems - 24 months duration with 6-10 months optional Internship
MSc IT Security - 24 months duration with 6-10 months optional Internship
MSc Maintenance Engineering - 27 months duration with 6-12 months optional Internship
MSc Building Service - 24 months duration with 6-12 months optional Internship
MSc Fire Engineering - 24 months duration with 6-12 months optional Internship

Hope it gives a clear picture and understanding of the importance of Internship programmes. Go and shine in the corporate world as a fresher.
