The Scottish Government and Scottish higher education institutions are offering a programme of scholarships for students from Canada, China, India and the USA.
The Saltire Scholarships scheme includes up to 200 awards, with each student receiving £2,000 towards their tuition fees for any one year of full-time study on an undergraduate, master’s or PhD course at any of Scotland’s higher education institutions.
What can I study?
The scholarships are aimed at students in these priority areas:
Creative arts
Life sciences
Technology
Financial services
Renewable and clean energy.
Am I eligible?
Make sure you meet these requirements before applying for a Saltire Scholarship. You must:
Have a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at a Scottish university on an eligible course. An eligible course is:
An undergraduate, master’s or PhD level course in one of the following broad subject areas: Science, technology, creative industries, financial services, renewable and clean energy.
Full-time and delivered in Scotland. Online, distance learning or courses delivered at a Scottish university campus overseas are not eligible.
Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, India, the USA or the People's Republic of China. Hong Kong is also eligible.
Be able to demonstrate that you can meet the costs of living in Scotland and the remaining tuition fees.
Not have previously studied for a full undergraduate degree in Scotland.
Not have previously received a Saltire Scholarship.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday, 31 March 2015, at midnight GMT.
